Eastern Cape police have arrested two suspects following the brutal killing of a 75-year-old woman who was allegedly attacked by a mob in the Luthuthu locality near Ngcobo after being accused of practising witchcraft.

The victim, identified as Nokhansala Sidiki, was allegedly assaulted on Sunday 17 May, during the violent incident that has shocked the local community.

“A 26-year-old female and a 28-year-old female are currently in police custody. More arrests are imminent. The investigation continues,” Gantana said.

Police have urged anyone with information related to the incident to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or submit anonymous tips through the MySAPS mobile application.
