KROONVALE – Young children had an opportunity to stay active when Future Youth Developers hosted a dancing competition in Kroonvale on Saturday, 29 August.
The event, held in front of Alex Laing, provided children with a safe and positive environment where they could participate in meaningful activities and stay away from negative influences in the community. The competition was hosted by Dyllan Baartman, known as Lara, in partnership with Future Youth Developers. “Every child has a talent, and sometimes all they need is an opportunity to be seen, heard and encouraged,” said Future Youth Developers.
According to the organisation’s director, Minnie, the event was aimed at helping young participants develop their talents. “This event allowed our young ones to showcase their dancing abilities, build confidence, make new friends and learn the importance of teamwork and discipline,” said Minnie. Future Youth Developers said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to keep children active, engaged and inspired while creating opportunities for them to discover and develop their talents. “To invest in children today, we are building a stronger community for tomorrow. Let our children dance, dream, create and believe in themselves,” said Minnie.
The organisation is also planning a market day in town following Entrepreneurship Day. The initiative is expected to bring established businesses and emerging entrepreneurs together to network, collaborate and explore opportunities to support one another. However, Future Youth Developers said limited funding remains a major challenge in organising community programmes and events.
The organisation is appealing to local businesses and potential sponsors to support its programmes and help create more opportunities for children and young entrepreneurs in the community.
