CAMDEBOO NATIONAL PARK

CLOSING DATE: 27 FEBRUARY 2026 STIPEND: R2 695.00 PER MONTH

South African National Parks (SANParks) is the leading conservation authority in all national parks, responsible for 3 751 113 hectares of protected land in 20 national parks. It draws its mandate from National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003.

Applications are hereby accepted from unemployed youth who reside in the communities adjacent to our National Parks and wish to start a career in conservation. SANParks, in partnership with Cathsseta, is offering a unique opportunity to participate in a Skills Programme – Eco Ranger for a period of 6 months with a monthly stipend of R2 695.00 and a further fixed term contract of another one (1) year. SANParks is under no obligation to employ the learner upon completion of the programme.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

To qualify for the Skills Programme Placement, you must –

•Reside in Graaff-Reinet within 25 km radius from the National Park

•Under the age of 35 at the time of registration with Cathsseta

•South African Citizen

•Grade 12

•Clear criminal record

•Not have benefited from other SANParks skills programmes/learnership/internship/EPWP before.

•Physically fit

IMPORTANT NOTE:

•Learner must be willing to attend training in a site away from their hometown for a period of at least four (4) months with all expenses paid for by SANParks.

•Applications must be emailed to camdeboovacancies@sanparks.org . No hand delivered applications will be accepted.

•Applicants must attach a recent copy of their CV, certified copies of: Matric/Grade 12 certificate, Academic qualifications with academic transcripts (academic record), proof of residence and ID.

•Correspondence will be entered into with shortlisted candidates only.
