The collision occurred on Sunday night 8 March, and claimed the lives of five people while leaving 60 others injured.

According to officials, the bus was carrying about 60 Zimbabwean nationals and was travelling toward Stutterheim at the time of the crash. The car involved had five occupants. “The MEC has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wishes the injured passengers a speedy recovery. He has also urged motorists to obey the rules of the road,” Komisa added on behalf of the department.
