The Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal have been warned about severe weather. In parts of KZN, an orange Level 6 warning is in effect for disruptive rainfall and flooding. However, the Eastern Cape was issued with an Orange Level 5 warning for disruptive snowfall.
Emergency teams are currently on high alert as they prepare for severe weather. Authorities are also urging residents to take necessary safety precautions to ensure safety.
Traffic law enforcement officers and road maintenance teams also remain on high alert and are monitoring conditions across the roads network.
“The safety of all road users remains our highest priority and we appeal to motorists to play their part by driving responsibly and remaining alert throughout this period of adverse weather,” the department stated.
